Delhi Man Set Himself On Fire After Receiving Property Seizure Notice
Delhi Man set himself on fire, after receiving a notice of property seizure by a court. On February 25, a resident of Gokalpuri Kapil Kumar (33) doused himself and died at 3:43 pm, confirmed police on February 26. "Some officials arrived at the Gokal Puri Police Station and produced the court order seeking police assistance for taking possession of one property in Gokal Puri village," said police.

US Billionaire Thomas Lee Dies By Suicide At Manhattan Office
American billionaire Thomas Lee, who was considered a pioneer of private equity investment and leveraged buyouts, died by suicide at the age of 78 at his Manhattan office, confirmed local police on February 25. The sources revealed that the billionaire died of 'gunshot wound.' The businessman was declared dead at his Fifth Avenue Manhattan office, the headquarters of his investment firm.

Class VIII Student Commits Suicide
A class 8 student committed suicide at a hostel of a room of a Government Residential School in Uttar Pradesh's Basti, confirmed the police on February 20. The boy was found hanging inside his hostel room. He rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared that he was 'brought dead'. IIT Student Who Committed Suicide Was Discriminated Over Caste, Says Family
An 18-year-old Dalit student at IIT Bombay, who died allegedly by suicide, was insulted on campus. Recently sources revealed that IIT student Darshan Solanki spoke to his sister and aunt about being ostracised by his friends because of his caste. However, IIT Bombay administration denied any discrimination on the campus. Notably, Darshan committed suicide after being harassed and discriminated by students at the IIT Bombay Campus.

Final Year Medical Student Hangs Herself To Death In Mumbai: Maharashtra
In Maharashtra’s Mumbai, a final year medical student allegedly hanged herself to death at her residence in Agripada area, informed police on September 24. The victim has been identified as Shreyasa Pathkar, who took her life when she was home alone. According to the police, no suicide notes have been recovered from the spot, and the body has been sent for postmortem.

In Uttar Pradesh's Rae Bareli, a class VII student allegedly committed suicide, after being beaten by a class teacher. Identified as Yash Singh, the child was thrashed by the school principal and teacher, after they caught him cheating in an exam, and committed suicide after he came back home. The Uttar Pradesh police registered a case against the school principal under the abutment of suicide and launched an investigation.

In Punjab’s Jalandhar, a first-year student studying at Lovely Professional University died by way of suicide on September 20. The police reportedly received a call at around 5:30, regarding the demise of a first-year B. Design student. A suicide note has been recovered from the spot, which cites “personal reasons”. A large amount of students stormed the university campus to stage a protest.

Tamil actress Pauline Jessica, popularly known as Divya, died by way of suicide in her Chennai flat in Virugambakkam area on September 18.
