History Sheeters Killed In Encounter With Tamil Nadu Police

Two criminals were shot dead on the outskirts of Chennai on August 1, confirmed the police. Getting into the details, the police said the criminals attacked an officer with sickles, prompting retaliation. The shot criminals were history sheeters and the incident occurred at 3:30 A.M., in Gaduvancheri region, Tamil Nadu. This is a developing story, more details are awaited.

Senior Tamil Nadu Cop Imprisoned In Sexual Harassment Case

A Tamil Nadu court convicted and sentenced Rajesh Das, the former Special Director-General of the state's police force, to three years imprisonment. On June 16, the court bench announced verdict in a sexual harassment case filed by a junior officer in February 2021. Das was also fined Rs 10,000. The court in Tamil Nadu's Villupuram also imposed a fine of Rs 500 on cop who stopped FIR of the crime.

Mother With Male Acquaintance Rapes Minor Daughter, Force To Sell Oocytes: Tamil Nadu

In Tamil Nadu, a mother with her male acquaintance exploited her minor daughter sexually and forced her to sell her eggs in various private hospitals. On June 6, TN police arrested the two accused and registered a case under various IPC, POCSO and other Acts. The investigation further revealed that the accused was in an egg-selling business and sold her teen daughter's eggs eight times in three years.

SC Reviews TN Teenage Suicide Case, Refuses Stay Order On CBI Probe

The Supreme Court, on February 14, heard a plea challenging Tamil Nadu HC decision in Tamil Nadu teen's suicide case. However, the SC refused to grant stay order on CBI probe, asking police not to make it a "prestige issue". Notably, a 17-year-old, died consuming poison, after she was allegedly forces to convert to Christianity. On January 31, the Madras HC reviewed the matter and transferred the case to CBI.

Police Frees Woman Who Killed Rape Accused In Self-defence

Tamil Nadu police department is being lauded on social media platforms as they released a woman on July 13, who killed a man in her self-defense following his attempt to rape her. Reportedly, the man attempted to rape the woman when she was working at the farm. Meanwhile, she resisted and knocked him out with a stone to his head. However, Police released her after she was found genuine.
