Central Govt Signs Peace Pact With Tribal Organisations In Assam
The Centre signed an agreement with eight tribal militant organisations based in Assam aiming peace in the region. HRDS Secretary, NGO Secretary Arrested For Threatening Tribals: Kerala
Aji Krishnan, the secretary of an NGO was arrested for allegedly encroaching and threatening tribals. On July 12, the Sholayur police arrested Krishnan, the secretary of High Range Rural Development Society (HRDS) with alleged RSS links. The action was taken after locals from the Tribal community registered a complaint against him, under various sections of the SC/ST Atrocities Act. Krishnan has been remanded under judicial custody.

Odisha Govt To launch Climate Resilient Natural Farming In Tribal Areas

15 Accused Arrested Under Aliraji Sexual Harassment Case, Says MP Police
Accused in the Alirajpur sexual harassment incident have been arrested on March 14, reported police. Notably, 15 tribal youths have been arrested for allegedly molesting a tribal girl, in full public view, during a festival in Alirajpur. The brutal incident's video went viral, following which the police took action and detained all between 18-32 year age group. Mumbai's Forest Hero Grows 10 'Food Forests' Of Fruits, Vegetables
George Remedios, a 36-year-old former Mumbai resident has created multiple food forests with saplings of papayas, guava, mango, and more which has also helped the nearby tribals to benefit from the harvest. His not-for-profit organization called 'Turning Tide' has planted over 1,000 trees and also gives guidance to rooftop gardening. “It would be helpful if we could produce a small fraction of the food we consume,” Remedios said.
