Five were killed and six injured, in the mass shooting that occurred at a bar in Orange County's Trabuco Canyon in California on August 24. The incident took place at Cook's Corner on Santiago Canyon Road, which is a biker's bar. As per reports, the mass shooting occurred while there was Spaghetti Night in the bar. There are reports that around five people have lost their lives in the attack

Said to be the deadliest wildfire of ten decades in US, the Maui wildfires in this week killed approximately 89 people, and left many burning in the woods. The US Fire Administrator said the Lahaina Fire is now the deadliest, bringing disaster beyond control. Hawaii Governor Josh Green has described the fires as the 'largest natural disaster Hawaii has ever experienced, with estimated losses of over $6 billion.

The BBC journalist Huw Edwards is alleged of paying money to a teenager for sexual photos. However, the police said they are not taking any further action against the journalist, as there is no evidence of the allegations. In May, the teen's mother complained to the BBC, that Edwards paid the youth 35,000 pounds starting in 2020 for sexual photos. However, the investigative agency concluded the case with no evidence found.

China will send a special envoy to Ukraine, Russia and other European nations from Monday to discuss a “political settlement” to the war in Ukraine. Notably, the special convoys sending decision was taken by the Chinese Government to discuss a political statement. From May 15, Ambassador Li Hui, a special representative of the Chinese government for Eurasian Affairs, will visit Ukraine, Poland, France, Germany and Russia, said China.
