Andhra Pradesh Launches Scheme For Early Detection Of Hearing Defects

To make Andhra Pradesh "deaf free", CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on February 16 launched a programme to detect speech and hearing defects at an early age. The decision was taken during a review meeting on cochlear implants. Under the programme, following the early detection, surgeries and treatments would be conducted to eliminate the disabilities. The CM has directed officials to prepare a comprehensive plan for the programme's implementation with special focus on screening part.
