Assam: ULFA(I) Commander Shot Dead In Encounter With Security Forces
The United Liberation Front of Asom's newly appointed leader, Dwipen Saud was shot dead in an encounter with security forces in Assam’s Bongaigaon district on April 29. Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta said the militant group was hatching out a high-profile kidnap plan. The security personnel also arrested Saud's gunman Padum Rai with weapons in possession. Notably, the separatist organisation's militants recently kidnapped three employees of ONGC.
