Belarus: Alexander Lukashenko Took Oath As President Amid Protests
Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on September 23 took charge as the President for the sixth time. Reportedly, the ceremony happened at Minsk, where the Chief of Election Commission handed over the official ID card of the President's post. Lukashenko said, "we were defending our values, our peaceful life, sovereignty and independence.” People of Belarus have been protesting for last six weeks after Lukashenko won the term with a majority of 80%.
