Centre To India's 1st Cervical Cancer Vaccine By Year-End

The Centre intends to launch India's first Quadrivalent Human Papillomavirus (qHPV) vaccine against cervical cancer as part of the national vaccination campaign by end of this year. Experts anticipate that it will be included in national HPV immunization efforts and will be more affordable than current vaccinations. Cervical cancer is the second most prevalent cancer type in women of reproductive age (15-44), and the second leading cause of cancer mortality.
