Deadly Pathogen 'Candida Auris' Found First Time In India
In a jointly-conducted research by Delhi's Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute and Pondicherry University, a vicious pathogen has been found in the coast of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Known as 'Candida Auris' or 'C. auris', the pathogen was interestingly found in the tropical marshes, which are not its natural habitat. Discovered first time in the country, the fungus causes nosocomial transmission. Reportedly, the concentration of these pathogens has spread over 40 countries in the last decade.
