Govt Nods DG AFMS To Recruit Ex-Army Med Officers To Aid COVID Crisis

The Defence Ministry has ordered the DG Armed Forces Medical Services to recruit ex-Army Medical Corps/Short Service Commission officers on a contractual basis. Recruited for maximum 11 months, the ex-army will aid the civil administration in its fight with COVID-19 under the 'Tour Of Duty' scheme. Around 400 officers discharged during 2017-2021 will be recruited. Besides deploying additional doctors, the AFMS is also running e-Sanjeevani OPD, online free consultation.
