India To Develop New Strategy To Combat Monkeypox Virus
Indian government plans to devise a system that would immunize those who have had intimate contact with monkeypox-infected patients and healthcare staff instead of mass vaccinations. US and a few European countries have previously used "ring vaccination," which refers to the practice of vaccinating an infected person's close contacts. India has nine monkeypox cases so far, and Union government believes that mass immunization is not essential at this time.
