ISRO Launches SSLV-D1 Rocket With Student-Made Satellite
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has launched its new rocket from Andhra Pradesh's Sriharikota, on August 7. The rocket SSLV-D1 (small satellite launch vehicle), carried a student-made satellite AzaadiSAT from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC). The satellite reportedly comprises of 75 payloads, and was built by 750 students from rural government schools across India. With this, India marks the celebrations of Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
