Karnataka: Congress Announces Candidate From South East Graduates' Constituency

The Congress Party on October 7 announced that the ex- spokesperson of Janata Dal (Secular) Ramesh Babu would be their candidate from Karnataka South East Graduates' Constituency. Ramesh Babu, who officially joined the Karnataka Congress party on September 19, had earlier resigned from JDS after the party refused him a ticket for the MLC election. He had earlier won the MLC election from the teachers’ constituency. While JDS has appointed Chowdareddy Thoopalli as their candidate for the constituency, the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has picked Chidananda Gowda. The elections for four seats of legislative council is scheduled to be held on October 28.
