Karnataka Police Makes First Arrest Under New Cattle Law
Karnataka police registered the first case under the freshly drafted Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act, 2020 on January 13. The police said that nearly 35 cattle were being illegally transported from Ranebennur to Mangaluru via Chikkamagluru district when they were attacked by an unidentified mob. While the cleaner escaped the attack, the police have registered a case after admitting the injured driver to the hospital.
