Kerala Govt Demands Civic Chandran's Bail In Sexual Harassment Case Revoked

Kerala government sought the state High Court on August 19 to overturn bail granted to writer and social critic Civic Chandran in sexual harassment case brought by Dalit writer. While granting anticipatory relief to Chandran, Kerala's Kozhikode district sessions court stated offenses under Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act would not stand against the accused prima facie. Two sexual harassment lawsuits were brought against him this year.
