Media Bodies Slam Sedition Against Scribes, Call It "Undeclared Emergency"
Condemning the sedition charges against six journalists following the R-Day tractor rally that turned violent, various media bodies called it an "undeclared emergency". Press Club of India president Anand Sahay said, “Even during the emergency, rules against journalists were not so harsh.” Calling for complete solidarity by the attendees from PCI, Editors Guild, Indian Women's Press Corps (IWPC), DUJ, and IJU, the media bodies also alleged that journalists nowadays are divided on ideological lines.
