Oxford's COVID Vaccine Gets Nod From UK Government
The UK has become the first country to authorise the emergency use of Oxford-Astra Zeneca's COVID-19 vaccine, Covishield. The decision was based on the recommendation from the country's Medicines and Health care products Regulatory Agency. With this, hopes for the vaccine to be approved in India have also soared as it is being made by the Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII). The SII has also applied for the emergency-use of the vaccine.
