Rajiv Kumar Appointed As New Election Commissioner of India
The Former Finance Secretary Rajiv Kumar, on September 1 took over the charge of India's new Election Commissioner. He is the successor of Ashok Lavasa, who has currently joined the Asian Development Bank, Philippines, as their Vice President. Kumar, a retired IAS officer has joined the position with Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora, and Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra for a tenure of five years.
