SC Refuses To Entertain Parliament Inauguration PIL, Petitioner Withdraws
In a disappointment to the opposition, the Supreme Court refused to entertain the public interest litigation filed by advocate Jaya Sukin, seeking the direction that President of India Droupadi Murmu should inaugurate the parliament building. The vacation bench comprising justices JK Maheshwari and PK Narasimha questioned the concerns of the petitioner and said, "We are not interested in entertaining such petitions". At this point, the petitioner withdrew the petition.
