According to a study, violence exposure speeds up reproductive ageing that leads to an early age of menopause in women. In addition, early menopause before age 45 results in higher risks of heart disease, osteoporosis, and premature death. Also, the mother's own childhood physical abuse and her child's sexual abuse are related to early menopause, claims researchers. Notably, Childhood sexual and physical abuse is associated with earlier menarche.
