Man Gets Refund After Five Years For Overcharged Water Bottle
Ahmedabad consumer forum has ordered a hotel to refund the extra amount charged for a mineral water bottle with 8 percent interest to a customer who visited there five years ago. The hotel has also been asked to pay Rs 2,500 as compensation for harassment. In 2015, Rohit Patel and his friend visited the hotel and ordered a water bottle with MRP reading Rs 20; but, they were charged Rs 164 for the same.

Blazing Fire Engulfs 22 Shops At Shopping Complex In Ahmedabad
At least 22 shops were gutted in fire after a massive fire broke out on December 6 at Ahmedabad's Shyam Sikhar shopping complex in Bapunagar area. Reportedly, the incident occurred after a tea kettle caught fire and quickly spread to a PVC board. According to the locals, there were no casualties caused by the fire as the complex was closed, thanks to the Sunday morning.

NGO To Build 35 Handwash Stations At Slums To Improve Hygiene

Spicejet Seaplane For Travels Between Ahmedabad to Statue of Unity Reaches Kochi
The Twin Otter 300 seaplane, leased by SpiceJet, touched Kerala's Kochi Venduruthy channel for refuelling from Maldives on October 25. The one-of-its-kind aircraft will operate between Sabarmati riverfront and Statue of Unity in Gujarat. According to Union Minister of State for Shipping Mansukh Mandaviya, the 19-seater aircraft will begin operations from October 31and it will carry 12 passengers at a time.

Ahmedabad Man Strangulates Minor To Death For Resisting Rape
A 46-year-old man was arrested on September 15, for allegedly attempting to rape a minor and strangulating her to death after she resisted. The 7-year-old minor's body was found naked, bearing marks of dog bite at a toll plaza near in Ahmedabad, Gujarat . Gujarat: Cop, Four Other Arrested With Drugs Worth Rs 1 Crore in Ahmedabad
On September 13, five men including a cop were arrested after the crime branch seized drugs worth Rs 1 crore in Ahmedabad. Reportedly, the cop was involved in drug delivery to avoid suspicion. According to officials, two of the four other accused are old drug mafias, who recently came out on a parole. It is suspected that the seized MD drugs had come from Mumbai.
