Dalit Man Who Sought Information Via RTI Act Brutally Beaten Up By Village Authorities

Shashikant Jatav (33), a Dalit man was brutally beaten and assaulted by sarpanch, her husband, and panchayat secretary after he sought information of Barhi village under the RTI Act. The police also arrested two of the seven accused under relevant sections, after the victim who is being treated at AIIMS (Delhi) filed a complaint. The incident which happened on February 23, was reported on February 28.

Manmohan Singh Diagnosed With Dengue, Gradually Improving, Says Delhi AIIMS

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been diagnosed with dengue but his health condition is gradually improving, said Delhi AIIMS on October 16. He was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on October 13 after he complained of weakness following a fever. The former PM is under the care of a team of cardiologists at a private ward in the cardio-neuro centre of the hospital.

Ex-PM Manmohan Singh Gets Admitted To hospital

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi on October 13. As per sources, the former PM is having a mild fever for the past two days and was feeling weak. Reportedly, he has undergone some medical tests. Singh has now been admitted at AIIMS for better medical care.

COVID-19 Vaccines For Children Above 2 Years To Be Available Soon

Director of Delhi AIIMS Dr. Randeep Guleria has revealed that Vaccines for Children are likely to be available in  September, 2021. Further, he said the phase 2/3 trials are being conducted by Covaxin and the data will be available by September, this year. If the vaccine found effective and safe, approval is also expected in the same month. However, the trials only involve children between 2 to 17-year-old.

Black Fungus Mainly Caused By Steroids' Misuse, Says AIIMS Director

As the cases of mucormycosis aka 'black fungus' have increased in the nation, AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria has warned against the misuse of steroids. Dr Guleria on May 15 stated steroid-taking patients, who have diabetes or COVID-19, are more prone to the deadly fungal infection that is causing high mortality. He said as the COVID-19 cases are rising fast, steroids' misuse must be avoided to curb the black fungus.

SC Directs UP Govt To Shift Jailed Journo Siddiqui Kappan To AIIMS

Reacting on the letter by jailed-hospitalised journalist Siddique Kappan’s wife, the Supreme Court asked the UP government to shift him to AIIMS or any other government hospital in Delhi. Kappan, who contracted COVID in Mathura jail was recently alleged of being chained to bed at Mathura’s Medical College Hospital. The apex court said that he would be sent back to Mathura jail once fully recovered.

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on April 20 assured that former PM Dr Manmohan Singh, who recently contracted COVID-19, is being given the best medical care. The minister also informed that the former PM's condition is stable. Hospitalised at the AIIMS Delhi, Dr Singh (88) was admitted a day after he wrote a letter to PM Narendra Modi, suggesting to vaccinate those even below 45 years of age.
