Baseless Allegations By Opposition, Says Anurag Thakur
Union Minister Anurag Thakur denied the allegations of the opposition over PM Modi's silence in communal violence incident. On April 16, Thakur said, opposition leaders are trying to spread hatred in the country and urged people to not listen to them and maintain peace and harmony. BJP leader Anurag Thakur, on February 19, alleged the Samajwadi President Akhilesh Yadav's links with 2008 Gujarat blast convicts. Addressing a meeting ahead of UP third phase elections, Thakur said, "One of the mastermind is Mohammed Saif, the son of Shahbaad Ahmed, who is a Samajwadi Party leader". The BJP leader even termed SP as Samajvirodhi party. Notably, the statements came when UP is conducting 2022 Assembly elections.

Union Cabinet Approves Rs 76,000 Crore For Manufacturing Semiconductor Chips
The Union Cabinet, on December 15, approved Rs 76,000 crore for designing & manufacturing of semiconductor chips in India. Launched to enhance display manufacturing ecosystem, it will bring about a $5 trillion economy by 2025. The project will reportedly have effect on various sectors including electronics field. "In the next six years we will reach USD 300 billion in electronic and manufacturing," said Union Minister Anurag Thakur.

Center To Invest Rs 11,040 Crore For Domestic Production Of Palm Oil
The Indian government on August 18 authorized the implementation of the National Mission on Edible Oils Oil Palm (NMEO-OP). The move will help in promoting the cultivation of palm oil in India for the coming five years. "Cabinet approved the NMEO-OP with a focus on the northeast region and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands with a financial outlay of Rs 11,040 crore," said Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur.
