Government Provides Z+ VIP Security Cover To Former CJI Ranjan Gogoi

Former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has been provided with 'Z+' VIP security cover by the Union government. Reportedly, Gogoi will be guarded with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and a team of 8-12 armed commandos accompanying him during all his travels. Besides, his house will also be guarded by a CRPF team. Earlier, the 66-year-old former CJI was nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the BJP government.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has unearthed 30 Kg of explosives during a de-mining exercise in Chattisgarh’s Dantewada district. R-Day Parade Opts For Short Route With Smaller Contingents Of Jawans

The COVID-affected 72nd Republic Day parade will be held under several modifications including curtailing the parade route by 50% as the jawans will march till the National Stadium only. Earlier, they used to march till Red Fort. Maintaining social distancing, the January 26 Parade will also have shorter contingents of mask-donned 96 jawans instead of 144 jawans. Additionally, in a first, the CRPF will display its own tableau.

1 CRPF Jawan Dead, 10 Jawans Injured After IED Explodes In Chhattisgarh

A CPRF assistant commandant Nitin lost his life on November 28 after two Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) that were placed by the naxals exploded in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district. Ten other security officials from the 206th battalion of Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) were being treated after they have been injured in the blast. Reportedly, the officials were returning from a naxal search operation during the blast.

CRPF Jawans Entrusted To Protect Hathras Rape Victim Family And Witnesses

Following the Supreme Court’s October 27 order, 80 CRPF soldiers took over the security of Hathras rape victim's family. A three-judge Supreme Court bench had asked UP government to ensure CRPF security cover to the family and witnesses within a week. The apex court also observed that all the aspects of the rape case will be considered by the Allahabad High Court. Earlier, the UP Police were entrusted for the family's security.

Jharkhand: Truck Carrying CRPF Personnel Flipped; 10 Injured

Due to a sudden movement of cattle ahead on the road, a truck carrying around 25 CRPF personnel flipped in Jharkhand. Reportedly, 10 personnel were injured and admitted to a local hospital. One of the officers said that discussions were underway to shift critically injured personnel to another hospital. The incident took place in Giridih district when the personnel were being transported to Nimiaghat from Madhuban.
