Congress Releases List Of 124 Candidates For Karnataka Polls

The Indian National Congress is gearing up for the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections. On March 25, the party released its candidates list and named 124 members, who will contest on the Congress ticket. As per sources, some of the major names in the list are; DK Shivakumar, Satish Jarkiholi,  Lakshmi Hebbalkar, Priyank Kharge, Rizwan Arshad, Dinesh Gundu Rao,Tanveer Sait, BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan and others, for the upcoming polls.

Xi Jinping Elected As President Of People's Republic Of China

In a major development, Xi Jinping has been elected as the President of People's Republic of China unanimously on March 10. This will be Jinping's third term as the President and is widely expected to continue in power for life.Jinping, 69, was re-elected by the once-in-a-five-year Congress of the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC.) The elections were conducted unanimously.

BCCI Elections Scheduled On October 18, Confirms Official

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) elections and Annual General Meeting are reported to be held on October 18.  A BCCI official, who wished to by anonymous said, “There is no intimation as yet, but the top bosses have informed the state associations about the elections in Mumbai on October 18.” Furthermore, after the Supreme Court approval, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly will continue for another term.

Congress Presidential Election Results To Be Announced On October 19

The election for Congress president is scheduled for October 17. The count will take place on October 19. The Congress Working Committee (CWC), the party's top decision-making body, met on August 28 to set the calendar for the election of the next AICC president. Nominations will be accepted from September 24 through September 30, with the deadline for withdrawal on October 8.

Process Of Electing New Congress President Commences, With Results Expected By September 20

The process of electing the president of Congress began on August 21. Madhusudan Mistry, Chairman of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), stated that the final date for the election of the Congress head might be any day between August 21 and September 20. There is no word on whether Rahul Gandhi would agree to run for Congress president, with many in the party saying he appears "disinterested."
