Acting German Chancellor Angela Merkel To Step Down: Steffen Seibert
Acting German Chancellor Angela Merkel, is expected to step down from the post on December 8. German Government Spokesperson Steffen Seibert, on December 3, released an official statement for the same. The statement read, "This Chancellorship will end, as we see it today, with the election of new Chancellor Olaf Scholz which is scheduled for Wednesday." Notably, this time, Germany will have only one Chancellor.

Germany Imposes Travel Ban On South Africa Due To New Covid-19 Variant
The German Government set to impose a travel ban on South Africa, said German Health Minister Jens Spahn on November 26. The decision was taken due to the emergence of the new variant of Covid-19. Germany Reintroduces Free COVID-19 Tests Due To Rise In Corona Cases
Germany reported a daily rise of over 40,000 COVID-19 cases. According to reports, the country is facing the brunt of rising coronavirus cases and hence the government has taken the decision to reintroduce free COVID-19 tests. According to the Robert Koch Institute, 45,081 new cases have been reported with 228 deaths in the last 24 hours. The government urged its citizens to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal on November 6 said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been ranked as the world's most admired leader.
