Women Commission Issues Notice To BJP Leader Ranjeet Srivastava
BJP leader Ranjeet Srivastava was issued a notice by National Commission for Women on October 7 against his alleged offensive remarks on the Hathras rape victim. The commission has asked the BJP leader to give an explanation before it on October 26. Rekha Sharma, chairperson of NCW tweeted, "He is not fit to be called leader of any party." Earlier, the BJP leader has made comments on the victim's character.

Case Filed Against AAP MLA Who Met Hathras Victim’s Family, Under Epidemic Act
Hathras Superintendent of Police has informed that a case has been filed under Epidemic Act, against AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar from Delhi's Kondli Constituency. Kumar had visited the Hathras victim's family on October 5, even though he had tested Covid positive on September 29, violating self isolation norms. The SP added that it was not clear if the MLA had tested negative before the visit.

BJP's IT Head Shares Video Of Hathras Victim; Video Removed After NCW's Comment
The Bharatiya Janta Party(BJP) IT cell head Amit Malviya, on October 2, shared a video of Hathras victim who was brutally murdered and allegedly gang raped. Uma Bharti Urges UP CM Yogi To Allow People Meet Hathras Victim's Family
Bharatiya Janata Party leader Uma Bharti, through Twitter, requested Uttar Pardesh CM Yogi Adityanath to allow politicians and media persons to meet the Hathras victim's family. In her nine-thread tweet, she mentioned that the police cremated the victim in a hurry. She added that she was not aware of any rule "under which a family can't meet anybody because of a Special Investigation Team probe."

UP CM Adityanath: Will Punish Those Who Even Think of Disrespecting Woman
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister (CM), Yogi Adityanath, on October 2, took to Twitter to mention that those who even think of disrespecting woman will be punished in a manner which will be exemplary in future. “The UP government is committed to protect every mother and sister of the state,” he added. Hathras DM Intimidates Rape Victim's Father; Caught On Camera
A video of Hathras District Magistrate has gone viral, wherein he can be seen telling the rape victim's father that it was up to the latter to change his statements or not. The conversation was in Hindi, and the officer's tone was intimidating. The officer also said, "half of the media people have already left. Others will leave by tomorrow. Only we will stand with you."
