Ajit Agarkar Joins Delhi Capitals As Assistant Coach: IPL 2022
Former Indian Cricketer Ajit Agarkar, on February 23, joined IPL team Delhi Capitals as Assistant Coach. "I have been lucky enough to be a player and to be returning in a different capacity". Besides Ajit Agarkar, there are other three coaches in the Delhi Capitals team, Ricky Ponting (Head Coach), Pravin Amre (Assistant Coach) and Jamesh (Bowling Coach). Notably, the 15th edition of IPL 2022 is scheduled to begin soon.

IPL 2022 Mega Auction Concludes; 204 Players Sold For Rs 551.7 Cr
IPL auction 2022 concluded on February 13, in Bengaluru, Karnataka. According to the IPL official Twitter handle, top 10 players in the bid are Ishan Kishan (Rs 15.25 crores -MI), Deepak Chahr (Rs 14 crores- CSK), Shreyas Iyer (Rs 12.25 crores- KKR,) Liam Livingston (Rs 11.50 cr- Punjab Kings) and Shardul Thakur Rs 10.75 cr to Delhi Capitals. In total, 10 IPL teams spent Rs 551.7 crores to buy 204 players.

IPL 2022 Mega Auction To Be Held In Bengaluru; Final List Includes 590 Players
Final list of IPL players including 370 national players and 220 international players were listed, on February 1. Of all, 48 players are the highest paid with a bracket of Rs 2 crore, 20 players in bracket of Rs 1.5 crore and 34 players in Rs 1 crore. Notably, the BCCI confirmed to conduct IPL 2022 auction on February 13 and 14, in Bengaluru, with 10 IPL franchises.

BCCI Announces Indian Squad For 2022 West Indies Series: Cricket
The BCCI, on January 26, announced 18-member Indian squad for the upcoming West Indies series. The squad for ODI and T20I series will be led by Rohit Sharma as captain, who recently recovered from an injury and has now claimed to be fit. While Rohit Sharma will be the captain, KL Rahul will lead as Vice Captain, in the West Indies series, starting from February 6, till February 20.

Indian Cricketer Krunal Pandya's Twitter Account Hacked, Put On Sale
The twitter account of Indian cricket player Krunal Pandya has been hacked on January 27, with the hacker putting up the account on sale in exchange of Bitcoins. Moreover, several tweets have also been made from the account, after it was hacked. Pertinently, Krunal wasn't picked for the homes series against West Indies, after BCCI announced the squad a day back.

Former Cricketer Harbhajan Singh Tests COVID-19 Positive
Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh tested positive for COVID-19. Taking to Twitter, Singh said, "I've tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms. I have quarantined myself at home and taking all necessary precautions." The 41-year-old veteran Indian spinner also urged people who came into his contact to get their COVID-19 tests done and take precautions. Recently, Harbhajan announced retirement from all forms of cricket.

KL Rahul To Lead Lucknow Franchise In Upcoming IPL Season
Indian cricketer KL Rahul will lead untitled Lucknow franchise team as captain in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). Reportedly, KL Rahul is one of the players Lucknow has picked ahead of the IPL auction, scheduled on February 12 & 13 in Bengaluru. In the past two seasons, Rahul led Punjab Kings XI team and is currently the stand-in captain of the Indian ODI team in South Africa.

Harbhajan Dismisses Rumours Of Joining Politics; Says, 'Will Stick With Cricket'
After announcing retirement, Cricketer Harbhajan Singh is unsure about his next goal. However, he clarified, "mentoring one of the IPL teams or commentary or doing something to be connected with the game but whether I am doing politics at the moment, I don't know," said Harbhajan. Mohammed Shami Faces Online Abuse Following India's World Cup Loss Against Pak
Following India's loss against Pakistan at the T20 World Cup on October 24, Instagram and Twitter were flooded with "derogatory" comments against Indian bowler Mohammad Shami. Fans trolled Shami calling him a "traitor" and that he should be thrown away from the Indian cricket team. Some also accused him to have favoured Pakistan since he is a Muslim, and requested BCCI to take action on this regard.
