India-China Holds 14th Military Talks To Resolve Stand Off Issue

India-China conducted the 14th round of talks over the stand-off dispute at the LAC in Eastern Ladakh, on January 12. Held after a gap of three months, the two nations discussed disengagement in Hot Spring areas. The military talks were held between Lt. Gen Anindya Sengupta, the Commander of Leh Based 14 Corps and Chinese official Maj Gen Yang Lin. Notably, October's 13th round meeting ended in a stalemate.

India-Russia Joint Military Exercise Begins, Involves Counter-Terror Ops

India and Russia began their joint military exercise on August 5 at Prudboy Ranges in Russia's Volgograd. The exercise INDRA 2021 will focus on training the Russian and the Indian forces to jointly execute counter-terror operations as mandated by the UN. The exercise will also involve experts from both countries to hold academic discussions. India Has World's Fourth Strongest Military, China At Top: Study

A recent study released by Military Direct has revealed that India stands fourth in terms of military strength with 61 out of 100 points. While China, scoring 82 points, topped the list, the United States and Russia stood second and third with 74 and 69 points respectively. Notably, the US emerged as the highest spender on the military with a budget of $732 billion a year followed by China and India.
