Congress Working Committee To Hold Meeting On March 13

The interim president of Congress Sonia Gandhi is scheduled to chair a meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC).  The meeting has been organised at 4 pm, on March 13, to discuss the future course of action and other crucial topics with the CWC leaders at Delhi. Notably, the Congress lost in all the five poll-bound states. Besides CWC meeting, a parliament strategy meeting will also be chaired  by Gandhi.

Congress Interim President Approves 6 Candidates For 2022 MLC Elections: Bihar

Congress approved six members of the party to contest the Members of the Legislative Council elections in Bihar. The candidates name was approved by Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi, on March 11. As per the list, the names the have been announced for six constituencies, named: Gopalganj, Rohtas, Darbhanga, Purnea, Kishanganj, Nawada and Samistipur. Furthermore, the ECI is yet to announce the  Bihar MLC elections schedule soon.

Ready To Form Alliance With Anti-BJP Party In Goa, Says Congress

Goa's Congress in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao on March 8, said the Goa unit is open for alliance with anti-BJP parties.  He said, " If any anti-BJP party wants to come forward and support us, we are ready to take them along." There might be no more than the clear majority of the 40 member assembly. Notably, recently the Goa Assembly elections were concluded and results are awaited.

Ghulam Nabi Azad's Nephew Joins BJP In Jammu & Kashmir

Disappointed with the disrespect of Congress with uncle Ghulam Nabi Azad, his nephew Mubashar Azad  joined the BJP, on February 27, in Jammu and Kashmir. The J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina welcomed Azad in the party during the event at BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar. After joining, Azad said, "We pledge to stand with PM Modi and BJP in the interest of society and the nation".

Priyanka Gandhi Slams CM Yogi, BJP & SP: UP Assembly Elections

General Secretary of Congress Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, on February 23, slammed the BJP and SP, for diverting people attention. During the UP Assembly elections, Gandhi said the opposition are focusing on terrorist act, avoiding women issues, unemployment and other youth issues in the State. She slammed CM Yogi Adityanath for not speaking of stray cattle issue, but lecturing people over terrorism, diminishing common people's issue.

Congress Releases List Of 30 Star Campaigners For Manipur Assembly Elections

Ahead of the Manipur Assembly elections, Congress released list of campaigners in the State. The star campaigners include Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, Okram Ibobi Singh, Kanhaiya Kumar and others. Notably, Congress is contesting in 54 seats of 60 total seats, whereas the remaining seats have been left for alliance parties. The Manipur Assembly elections are scheduled in two-phases, on February 28 and March 5.

Rahul Gandhi Confident About Winning Goa Assembly Elections

Rahul Gandhi, on February 11, campaigned in Goa ahead of state assembly polls. During his visit, Gandhi expressed confidence in forming a Congress government in Goa, without support from TMC and AAP.  He also criticised BJP saying "His (PM Modi) government did nothing in the past five years". If voted in power, Congress also promised to make Goa an "IT- Knowledge Hub", aiming developments.
