Japan and South Korea are likely to allow business travels soon between the countries, to revive economy. Reportedly, short-term visitors will have to provide a COVID-19 negative test report along with a travel itinerary, to skip quarantine. However, long term visitors will have to undergo a test followed by two weeks of self-isolation. It is said that the Japanese Government is expecting this could help mend ties with South Korea.

The Government of Japan announced its plans of removing the overseas travel ban from October first week, which was imposed due to the spread of the Coronavirus. The countries including Australia, New Zealand, and Vietnam are free from the ban, as the number of cases in these countries are comparatively low. Japan hopes this move will motivate other countries to remove travel restraints they had set.

Tourism New Zealand launched a unique virtual campaign on September 21, "Messages From New Zealand" on social and digital channels to attract Indian travellers to their country. The campaign includes daily videos from New Zealanders containing messages of hope and care amid the pandemic. Trade marketing manager of New Zealand Tourism Steven Dixon stated that "We want to make sure as many Indians as possible see these messages."

The Tourism Ministry of Maldives has posted an update regarding the new guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19. The Ministry has made it compulsory for tourists to submit a COVID-19 negative PCR report, which should be dated 72 hours prior to the travel.
