Jasprit Bumrah

Ahead of IPL 2023, Mumbai Indians have roped in Sandeep Warrier, a seasoned right-arm fast bowler, as a substitute player for Jasprit Bumrah, who is currently injured. With more than 200 matches under his belt in the domestic circuit, including 69 T20 games, Sandeep has taken a total of 362 wickets across formats in his career so far. Sandeep will join the Mumbai Indians in first match against RCB.

The Board of Control from Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to take a decision on the replacement of Jasprit Bumrah, for the T20 Internationals ICC World Cup. Notably, after the recent injury of Bumrah, he has been ruled out of the tournament. Moreover, the team India head coach, Rahul Dravid said, "We still have time and Shami is on standby". The tournament is set to begin from October 23.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named Mohd. Siraj as replacement for Jasprit Bumrah.  Notably, due to back stress injury, Bumrah was ruled out of the ongoing T20 Internation series against South Africa and T20 ICC World Cup. He is currently under the supervision of BCCI Medical Team. Moreover, the 2nd T20International match against South Africa is scheduled on October 2,

India's stand-in skipper, who is also leading the India-England series Jasprit Bumrah, was the highlight of the 5th Test match, day-2. On July 3, Bumrah became hero of the rain-marred day and took 3-35 to break the bat of English batting. With the stunning performance. England, at the end of Day, were struggling at 83-5, and Team-India at 416 runs, in the match. England won toss and decided to bowl. 

After India's two consecutive defeats in the T20 World Cup, the team's hopes of reaching the semi-finals almost ended. Bumrah has blamed the bubble for what is the reason for India's poor performance. India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah said that "bubble fatigue" is a bitter reality of the present times.  India lost to New Zealand by eight wickets and to Pakistan by 10 wickets, so far.
