Rajnath Singh Paid Homage To Kargil War Jawans On 24th Anniversary
Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh laid the wreath, remembering jawans on the 24th anniversary of Kargil Vijaya Diwas. According to sources, on July 26, Singh arrived in the district of Ladakh and paid homage to the fallen soldiers, who sacrificed their lives in the 1999 Kargil War between India and Pakistan. Besides Rajnath Singh, Army Chief General Monoj Pande also paid floral tribute to the jawans.

Political Leaders Pay Tribute To Indian Brave Hearts On Kargil Vijay Diwas
On July 26, 1999, Kargil War was fought between India and Pakistan where Indian soldiers successfully reoccupied the Indian territories from Pakistanis. Since then this day is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas in India. Several politicians including PM Narendra Modi took to Twitter to commemorate this day. He wrote, “Today, on Kargil Vijay Diwas we pay homage to all those who lost their lives in Kargil protecting our nation.”
