The people of the Union Territory of Ladakh will get a new central university, as the Lok Sabha passed the bill on August 7. Meanwhile, Education Miniter Dharmendra Pradhan said, ''We've given Ladakh a Union Territory status and going to set up the "Sindhu Central University" for Rs 760 crore.'' Reportedly, about 2,500 students can get an opportunity to secure their seats to study here.

Magnitude Of 4.6 Earthquake Hits Ladakh, No Casualties Reported 

An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 has hit near Ladak's Leh in the morning of June 28. According to India's National Center for Seismology, the epicenter of the earthquake was 86 km east-northeast of Leh at a depth of 18 km from the surface. The tremor was felt at around 6 am, however, no casualties reported so far.
