40% Indians May Reduce Life Expectancy By 9 Years, Says US Researchers
The EPIC, a research group in the US has revealed that about 40% of Indians could witness a reduction in life expectancy by over 9 years due to air pollution. Besides, It is expected that over 480 million people living in Maharashtra, MP, and Delhi inhale hazardous air. However, the report by EPIC praises India's effort under the National Clean Air Program to reduce pollution by 20%-30% by 2034.

Life Expectancy Of Women Is Higher, Not Healthier In India: Report
According to a report, the average Indian women live three years more than men. However, a longer life span doesn’t guarantee a healthy lifestyle. Poonam Muttreja, Executive Director of Population Foundation of India said that "older women have higher risks of cardiovascular diseases and suffer from poor nutrition than men." Though women have a higher life expectancy, the healthy living statistics diminish to 2.4 years.

20.5 Mn Years Of Life Lost Globally Due To COVID-19 Deaths: Study
The world has lost over 20.5 million years of life due to pre-mature deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic, revealed a study published in the journal Scientific Reports. The figure was extracted by subtracting the age of COVID-19 deceased with their average life-expectancy. India's Life Expectancy Increased To 70.8 Years in 2019: Study
According to a study published in Lancet Journal, the life expectancy in India has increased to 70.8 years in 2019 as compared to 59.6 in 1990.
