Bollywood celebrity Akshay Kumar finally broke his silence over Manipur Violence. Taking to Twitter, Kumar condemned the viral video of two Kuki community women, parading naked and said, "Shaken, disgusted to see the video of violence against women in Manipur." Notably, on May 4, two women were paraded naked by a mob in Manipur. The women were allegedly gang raped. Although the incident happened earlier, video went viral recently.

Manipur Minister Urge For End To Violence In State
Calling for an urgent end to the ongoing violence in Manipur, Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga said that the situation in the state has "worsened" in recent weeks. On July 3, Zoramthanga urged for peace, seeking an end to the violence in Manipur. Notably, the clashes between the two ethnic groups has claimed the lives of nearly 120 people and injured over 3,000 others. The violence began on May 3.

Supreme Court Asks Manipur Govt To Submit Fresh Violence Report
In a fresh hearing amid the Manipur Violence situation, the Supreme Court (SC) asked the Manipur State Government to submit a fresh report. During the court hearing on July 3, the Top Court asked the court to submit a report after the solicitor general Tushar Mehta said the ethnic violence situation is improving in the State and measures are being taken. The next hearing is on July 10.

Biren Singh, the CM of Manipur, who was on his way to meet the State Governor, decided to drop the resignation idea and tore the resignation letter. Former Indian Army chief General VP Malik (retired) has called for "urgent attention" to the situation in Manipur, amid violent ethnic clashes. Malik's urgent attention tweet came as a response to a retired army officer living in Manipur. "An extraordinary sad call from a retired Lt General from Manipur," tweeted Malik on June 16. Govt Forms Committee To Facilitate Peace In Violence Hit Manipur
The Centre has constituted a committee in Manipur headed by the governor to facilitate the peace-making process among various ethnic groups and initiate dialogue between conflicting parties, said the Union Home Ministry. SC Directs Manipur Govt To File Fresh Status Report
The Supreme Court directed the Manipur government to file a fresh status report on the violence between the Meitei and the Kuki communities in the north-eastern state. In the hearing, the Apex Court heard and then posted the matter for hearing to the first week of July. The Centre and State government earlier told the SC that a status report has been filed and the situation has improved in Manipur.
