CM Bommai Hands Over Cheque Of Rs 25 Lakh To Kin Of MBBS Student Killed In Ukraine

Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai handed over a Rs 25 lakh cheque to the final year MBBS student Naveen Shekharappa family who died in war-torn Ukraine, on March 5. He also assured a job for a family member. "Naveen's body will be brought back here as soon as possible. I'm constantly in touch with foreign minister S Jaishankar and officials," said Bommai. Shekharappa was a medical student at Kharkiv National Medical University.

UP Govt Announces Deployment Of MBBS Students For COVID Assistance

Considering the pressure on doctors due to massive surge in COVID cases, the UP government has decided to deploy fourth and fifth-year MBBS students at hospitals. The decision came after the state government announced the cancelation of MBBS exams amid rising cases of infections. 64-Year-Old Odisha Man Cracks NEET; Joins MBBS At Vimsar

In what could be called as a sheer determination, a 64-year-old from Odisha has cleared NEET to pursue dreams. Retired in 2016, bank employee Jaya Kishore Pradhan had prepared for NEET since then. He got placed in Odisha's Vimsar after clearing NEET in 2020. Pradhan said, "I wish to provide free medical treatment to the poor.” Earlier in 2018, the Supreme court permitted aspirants above age 25 to appear for NEET.
