Tamil Nadu CM Launches 70 New Govt Pharmacies; Offers 20% Discount

Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin on December 16 launched 70 new state-run pharmacies in 36 districts across the state. These pharmacies provide medicines at a discount of upto 20%, reported PTI. ''The 303 government-run medical stores are playing a social role similar to ration shops,'' said the government. Reportedly, the decision also led to private medical shops owners offering discounts to compete in the market.

Doctors Perform India's First Cutting Edge Lung Transplant In Hyderabad

The surgeons of KIMS hospital of Hyderabad performed India's first breathing lung transplant surgery. It was performed on a middle aged person, suffering from end stage interstitial lung disease. Dr Anand Attawar and his team performed the surgery, on December 12. Breathing lung procedure helps mitigating lung, improved lungs functioning compared to a donated lung and better results for long term.
