President of India Droupadi Murmu visited Jammu and Kashmir's Katra, and offered prayer at Vaishno Devi Temple. According to sources, Murmu arrived at the Katra temple on October 12, and was accompanied by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Later, after the holy darshan, Murmu inagurated the remodelled skywalk. The The 200-metre skywalk will make the journey of pilgrims smooth as it will separate the path taken by them to the Bhawan.

President of India Droupadi Murmu gave assent to the Women's Reservation Bill, which has now become a law. Tabled by the BJP-led Central Government, the Women's Reservation Bill was approved by the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha recently. The Government of India is likely to introduce a resolution, renaming India as Bharat. The decision came after the official invite to the G20 Heads of State and ministers for a dinner being hosted by President by Droupadi Murmu with the heading President of Bharat. The BJP-led Central Government will hold a special session, to pass a resolution for India to rename as Bharat, to avoid I.N.D.I.A. alliance confusion.

President Droupadi Murmu on Monday approved one President's Tatrakshak Medal (PTM) and five Tatrakshak Medals (TM) to the Indian Coast Guard personnel on the eve of Independence Day. According to a statement by the ministry of defense, the awards were given to recongnise their “act of conspicuous gallantry, exceptional devotion to duty and distinguished or meritorious service.” Besides, the President of India approved 76 Gallentry award.

Opposition bloc INDIA submitted a memorandum to President Droupadi Murmu over their demand for PM Narendra Modi's statement in Parliament on the Manipur issue. They also demanded that the prime minister visit the strife-torn state to restore peace.
