NCP Chief Sharad Pawar Tests Positive For COVID-19
NCP chief Sharad Pawar has tested positive for COVID-19 on January 24. Pawar confirmed it on twitter, and said that he is following the treatment as suggested by his doctor, while he requested people who came in contact with him, to get tested. In the month of December 2021, 13 ministers of the Maharashtra government and 70-odd legislators tested positive for Covid-19. Notably, the state reported 40,805 fresh cases.

Sharad Pawar Takes Dig At BJP, Says 4 More MLAs Quit, Ahead Of UP Polls
NCP President Sharad Pawar took a dig at the BJP, after four MLAs resigned the Party. "Not a single day passes when a BJP leader does not leave the party. Take Uttar Pradesh for example, 13 MLAs are leaving BJP to join another party," said Pawar. The statement came after Vinay Shakya, Devesh Shakya, Draupadi Shakya and Mukesh Verma submitted their resignation, ahead of UP Polls, scheduled from February 10.

NCP Chief Sharad Pawar meets PM Modi, Discusses Core Issues
Rajya Sabha member and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar held a meeting with PM Narendra Modi on July 17. The meeting took place over 50 minutes over tension in Maharashtra’s Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition government. Besides, Congress and NCP are opposed to Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena. Thackrey reported to be politically opposing the Congress and the NCP, however, admits praising their good work in the government.

Newly Reshuffled Cabinet Receives Backlash From Opposition
The newly reshuffled Union Cabinet created to strengthen the cooperative movement has started receiving backlash from the opposition. Congress alleged that BJP wants to gain control of NCP and Congress-run cooperatives in Maharashtra and Gujarat. "Something is afoot. There is some political mischief,” a senior Congress leader claimed. Meanwhile, the Left deems the reboot as an "assault" on federalism since cooperative is a state subject.

Prashant Kishor Denies NCP's Association With Opposition Front Against BJP
After poll strategist Prashant Kishor met with NCP Chief Sharad Pawar on June 22, Kishor dismissed rumours of any association with the Opposition Front against the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He claimed that the Third Front model is "archaic", and that it does not suit the current political scenario. According to NDTV, Kishor and Pawar had a political discussion on things that would work against BJP.

Kerala Former MP PC Chacko Joins Sharad Pawar's NCP Ahead Of Polls
Kerala's Ex-Congress leader PC Chacko on March 16 formally joined Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), as the state awaits poll on April 6. On decamping to NCP, Chacko stressed the need for unity among the oppositions. "A united opposition should emerge as an alternative to BJP", stated Chacko. The former Thrissur MP had resigned from Congress on March 10, over alleged groupism and factional selection of electoral candidates.
