NTA Eyes To Conduct JEE Mains In July-August, NEET In September

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is eyeing to conduct the JEE (Main) exams at the end of July and August, and hold NEET-UG examination in September. The agency sources revealed this after the CBSE on May 23 proposed two options to conduct exams for class 12 students in August. "Everything rests on when the Class XII Board exams are conducted and in what format," said a government source.

SC Reduces Cut-Off For NEET BDS 2020 Admissions By 10 Percentile

The Supreme Court has directed to reduce the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) cut-off for BDS admission in 2020-21 by 10 percentile. After the revised cut-off, now the percentile required for General Category stands at 40%, and for the SC/ ST/OBC and disabled candidates it dropped to 30% and 35% respectively. 64-Year-Old Odisha Man Cracks NEET; Joins MBBS At Vimsar

In what could be called as a sheer determination, a 64-year-old from Odisha has cleared NEET to pursue dreams. Retired in 2016, bank employee Jaya Kishore Pradhan had prepared for NEET since then. He got placed in Odisha's Vimsar after clearing NEET in 2020. Pradhan said, "I wish to provide free medical treatment to the poor.” Earlier in 2018, the Supreme court permitted aspirants above age 25 to appear for NEET.

Tamil Nadu: Governor Approves Reservation For Govt. School Students In Medical Colleges

Tamil Nadu's ordinance which aims to provide reservation for Government school students in medical colleges, has been accorded the 'law' status after approval by the Governor. This will provide a reservation of 7.5% which results in almost 300 seats in medical colleges being reserved for students from government schools who clear NEET, the medical entrance exam. Reportedly, the law is applicable from this academic year itself.
