Patna's Kishanganj is the poorest district, as per Niti Aayog Multidimensional Poverty Index Report. Released on November 26, the index showed that 64.75 % people of Kishanganj are living under below poverty line (BPL). In addition, out of 38 total districts, 11 districts have 60 % people under BPL. Highlighting the Niti Aayog Index, former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav, slammed the Nitish Kumar Government over poverty in the State. 

During a press briefing, NITI Aayog's Member Dr. V.K Paul on September 2 said that every pregnant woman should receive both the doses of COVID-19 vaccine to avoid the adverse effects of infection. Given the upcoming festive season, Paul said, ''Celebrate festivals at home and avoid going outside. Mask is must for all even after both doses.''  Reportedly, 54% of adults have received the first dose of the vaccine.

The Centre may include the Central Bank of India and Indian Overseas Bank in the next round of privatisation, as per the government sources. Reportedly, the two banks have been suggested by the NITI Aayog, and they are being analysed by the disinvestment and financial services departments. The sources added that "the timeline [for the privatisation of state-run banks] will depend on the legislative changes required."

Laying stress on quicker and efficient disposal system, the NITI Aayog on April 10 proposed an online redressal system for settling disputes. The Aayog chief Amitabh Kant released a handbook for small and medium-value cases that provisions to settle the disputes by using digital technology and arbitration. The Centre is planning to promote ‘One District-One Product’ policy at the NITI Aayog’s governing council meeting on February 20.
