Kishanganj Named 'Poorest' District Of Bihar: Niti Aayog Index

Patna's Kishanganj is the poorest district, as per Niti Aayog Multidimensional Poverty Index Report. Released on November 26, the index showed that 64.75 % people of Kishanganj are living under below poverty line (BPL). In addition, out of 38 total districts, 11 districts have 60 % people under BPL. Highlighting the Niti Aayog Index, former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav, slammed the Nitish Kumar Government over poverty in the State.

Niti Aayog Partners With BJYU's To Help Government School Students

Pregnant Women Must Take COVID-19 Vaccines: NITI Aayog

During a press briefing, NITI Aayog's Member Dr. V.K Paul on September 2 said that every pregnant woman should receive both the doses of COVID-19 vaccine to avoid the adverse effects of infection. Given the upcoming festive season, Paul said, ''Celebrate festivals at home and avoid going outside. Mask is must for all even after both doses.''  Reportedly, 54% of adults have received the first dose of the vaccine.

Govt Bank Employees Seek Jobs At Bigger Banks Amidst Privatisation

Several banking staffs & employees of the govt banks are seeking jobs at a bigger public sector banks due to the Niti Aayog's report of shortlisting banks for privatisation. However, the others are waiting for a 'Voluntary Retirement Scheme' which is expected to be launched by the management. According to reports, Niti Aayog is planning to provide job security for a year post-privatisation.

Next In Line For Privatisation May Be Central Bank, IOB: Sources

The Centre may include the Central Bank of India and Indian Overseas Bank in the next round of privatisation, as per the government sources. Reportedly, the two banks have been suggested by the NITI Aayog, and they are being analysed by the disinvestment and financial services departments. The sources added that "the timeline [for the privatisation of state-run banks] will depend on the legislative changes required."

NITI Aayog Ranks Chhattisgarh 1st In Child Sex Ratio, U'khand Last

The NITI Aayog's Sustainable Development Goals index has ranked Chhattisgarh first on the child sex ratio parameter. Chhattisgarh's sex ratio was 958, followed by Kerala which recorded birth of 957 females per 1000 males. On the other hand, Uttarakhand performed worst in this regard with a sex ratio of 840. Notably, the national sex-ratio average stood at 899 with a major improvement in Punjab (890) and Haryana (843) region.
