Ravindra Jadeja Unveils India's Retro Jersey For WTC Final Against NZ

Ahead of the World Test Championship starting on June 18, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on May 29 unveiled India's jersey for the WTC final against New Zealand. Posting a picture on Instagram, wearing the team’s new jersey, Jadeja wrote, "Rewind to 90's #lovingit #india." After his mind-blowing performance earlier in the now postponed IPL 2021, Jadeja is currently undergoing quarantine in Mumbai which will likely end on June 2.

The BCCI on May 7 announced the 20-member squad for the upcoming five match test series against England and World Test Championship final against New Zealand. Led by Virat Kohli and Vice-captain Rahane, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel Mohammed Shami and Hanuma Vihari has made comeback to the squad. Dropping Hardik Pandya due to injuries, the selectors announced to confirm KL Rahul and Wriddhiman Saha depending on fitness.

Chahal Becomes First Indian To Be Named As Concussion Substitute

In the opening T20I against Australia, BCCI has fielded Yuzvendra Chahal as a concussion substitute for Ravindra Jadeja. The all-rounder has been hit on the helmet in a bouncer by Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc. However, Jadeja continued to bat. During the 19th over, he underwent a hamstring injury and was declared unfit by the BCCI medical team. Interestingly, Chahal is the first Indian to achieve the feat.
