Shrikant Tyagi

A court in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar rejected the bail application of politician and suspended BJP worker Shrikant Tyagi, on September 2. The bail plea was rejected by Special Judge (Gangsters Act) Ranvijay Pratap Singh in the District and Sessions Court. Notably, Tyagi was arrested for abusing a woman at Omaxe Grand Complex. The arrest was based on a viral video of him assaulting and abusing the Noida woman.

A local Uttar Pradesh court rejected the bail application of a BJP worker Shrikant Tyagi in a cheating case and assaulting a woman at the Grand Omaxe Colony, in Noida. The case against Tyagi has been registered in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar district. Moreover, the court granted bail to two of Tyagi's aides who were accused of harbouring him during the period he went absconding from Noida.

Uttar Pradesh Police detained Shrikant Tyagi for reportedly insulting and beating a lady in Noida. Tyagi stated on August 9, "I express my regret on the incident. She is like my sister, the incident is political and was done to politically decimate me." Tyagi was sentenced to 14 days in judicial jail by a Surajpur court for attacking and insulting a lady at the Grand Omaxe community in Noida.
