TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy Put Under House Arrest: Telangana

TPCC president Revanth Reddy, has been put under house arrest, on December 31. Reddy was scheduled to visit farmers in Sayampalem village, Bhupalpally district. However, the State Police suspected him to be planning a protest, due to which he has been put under house arrest with additional security. Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy criticised the Telangana Government and CM K Chandrashekar Rao, calling it breach of human rights.

Telangana Announces Rs 3 lakh For Relatives Of Farmers Killed In Protest

Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao announced an ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh for the families of the martyred farmers on behalf of the Telangana government, on November 20. According to reports, the CM further demanded PM Modi to provide each family with Rs 25 lakhs in compensation. Moreover, he also requested the center to withdraw the cases filed against the farmers during the farmers’ protest at the Singhu border.

Dalit Woman Dies In Police Custody; SHRC Requests Investigation

National Commission for Scheduled Castes has issued a notice to the Telangana government for the death of a Dalit woman, Mariyamma in police custody, due to alleged torture. Telangana Rolls Notification To Recruit 50,000 Temporary Medical Staff

Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao has directed the officials to temporarily recruit around 50,000 MBBS graduates to tackle the COVID-19 situation in the state. Telangana Mandates Mask At Public Places; Imposes Rs 1,000 Penalty

In the wake of increasing COVID-19 cases, the Telangana government has directed the officials to impose Rs 1,000 penalty on people failing to wear face mask. On April 11, order mandated donning face mask in all public spaces, work spaces and all means of transport. Failing to abide by the aforementioned regulations, violators will be punished under the Disaster Management Act, 2005. The state recorded 3,187 COVID-19 cases on April 11.
