PM Narendra Modi Lays Foundation Stone For New Parliament Building
PM Narendra Modi on December 10 laid the foundation stone for the new Parliament building in New Delhi. The project, which has been scheduled to be completed by 2022, costs around Rs 971 crore. Addressing the event, the PM stated that the new Parliament building would illustrate the co-existence of the new and old and would be a milestone in the history of the nation. Moreover, PM Modi said while the construction of the old Parliament gave India a new path after independence, the new building will be a tribute to the development of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. While the work to meet nation's requirements was achieved in the old building, PM Modi added that in the new Parliament India's 21st-century dreams would be achieved. The old Parliament would be conserved as an archaeological heritage of the nation. The Bhoomi Pujan of the site was conducted by Karnataka's Shringeri Math Pujaris.
