Bangladesh Govt Begins To Move Rohingyas To Flood-Prone Island
The Bangladesh government has started shifting about 1,600 Rohingya refugees to Bhasan Char island - a flood-prone area in the Bay of Bengal. While the authorities say they have consent from the refugees, the Human Rights Watch stated that many of them were not willing to be shifted. However, foreign minister Abdul Momen has supported the move and said, the government "was not taking anyone to Bhasan Char forcibly".
