COVID-19: Centre Rejects IMA Demand To Vaccinate All Above 18 Years
The Health Ministry on April 6 rejected Indian Medical Association’s request to give COVID-19 jab to anyone above 18 years. The ministry cited that the current vaccination plan is being implemented to minimise deaths. It added that currently people above 45 are being vaccinated as their mortality rate accounted for 88% of total deaths. "The objective... is to vaccinate those who need it," said the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan.
