DRDO And Indian Navy Test Brahmos Missile; Hits Target At "Pin-point Accuracy"
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Navy, on October 18, successfully test-fired the naval-version of 'BrahMos supersonic cruise missile'. Reportedly, the missile which is developed jointly by India and Russia was fired from indigenously-built stealth destroyer at INS Chennai in Arabian Sea and it is said to have hit the target with "pin-point-accuracy". The missile is expected to be a 'prime-strike-weapon' to enhance Navy's long-range capabilities.
