Fog-induced Disorientation Causes Helicopter Crash Killing Kobe Bryant
Fog-caused disorientation of the pilot has been suspected as the reason behind the 2020 helicopter crash, which killed nine people, including basketball superstar Kobe Bryant and his daughter. Independent investigation agency National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) stated the pilot, Ara Zobayan's, decision to keep flying in adverse conditions could have been backed by "self-induced pressure". It also indicated fault on the part of the helicopter charter company, Island Express, for "inadequate review" of safety process.
